Here are two study's results:
 1. Pediatrics;103,1999: 870-876. The main author is Wright, A.
EXCESS COSTS per 1000 FF infants
    Office Visits: 2033
    Hospitalization days: 212
    Prescriptions #: 609

This equaled a savings of $331-$475 per FF infant in the first year of life.
Excess Costs per 1000 FF infants compared to those BF at least 3 months.

 2. Ware& Hoey, ABM News and Views 1996;2;12. This is the Kaiser study from
N. Carolina.
Excess Costs per each FF infant
            Clinic Visits: 1
            Hospital admissions: .11
            Hospital Days: .8
            Hospital Costs: $898
            Prescription Costs: Equal
Extrapolating these medical cost estimates to the number of infant deliveries
during this time period (n=2140), increasing the number of BF infants from
26% (current value) to 46% would result in a an estimated cost savings of
$491,000 for the HMO.
