Hi,

I am back after being on vacation and "no mail".

I am working with a mother who has a 10 week old. She has been experiencing
"pulling" in only one breast as the baby nurses. With each suck, she says
it feels as though the breast tissue (ducts?) inside are literally being
pulled and stretched rhythmically with each suck.

I have suggested all the possibilities to her - candida, mastitis, breast
injury or bruising, adhesions from previous surgery, improper breastpump
use, back or shoulder strain, leaning over the baby to nurse, sleeping on
this side or other causes of breast compression, etc. Nothing truly "rings
a bell". She is able to tolerate the pain, but would like to know the cause
as would I. She feels that latch and positioning are correct. Any thoughts
would be appreciated.

One other question...if I want to respond to a question, how do I respond to
the entire list group instead of clicking on the writer's email link and
thus sending a personal response. Still too new to this, I guess.

Thanks!

Becky Flora
