Dear Maria,
It is my belief that any formula company that gets its DHA and AA from Martek
is getting a genetically engineered product. Mead Johnson (Lipil) definitely
gets Martek's DHA and AA. It is in preterm formulas as well as term formulas
around the world. Martek partners with many different infant formula
companies. But heck it isn't the only item that is genetically
engineered--most of the supplemental vitamins used in formula are gmo'd. The
nucleotides are gmo. If they have added lactoferrin--gmo'd. Various oils
are gmo'd. The MCT oils that everyone uses for preterm infants or infants
with problems is gmo'd. I believe human milk fortifiers have gmo'd products
in them. Frankly infant formula is just one big chemical soup. But heck
everyone seems to have blinders on in regard to infant formula.
