Actually, just recently in Massachusetts, WIC did begin paying for this
formula. :( Its considered a contract formula and mothers can get it upon
request. We don't have many using it and I am tending to discourage it.
Strangely its the mothers who are breastfeeding and are supplementing for
one reason or another that seem to want it the most. I tell them, you don't
need this because you *are* breastfeeding and your baby is getting what you
need from your milk.

There is the perception among the WIC mothers that this is the formula *like
breastmilk*, and since they know how good breastfeeding is, they are buying
into the marketing of it bigtime.

I have had a few mothers tell me that Lipil made their baby vomit and have
diarrehea, but its hard to tell if its significant because no matter what
formula one is speaking of there are babies who dont' tolerate it. Everytime
I see a familiy going through brand after brand of formula without finding
one well tolerated by the baby I sigh and wish that they were breastfeeding.
