Hi all, Coach Smith here again.

Personally, I LOVE the posters, the TV spots and especially the two radio
spots. The country-western radio spot ends with "Y'all breastfeed now, ya
hear?" YAHOO! What a great message! The ads are edgy, bold and
in-your-face. This is a good thing, not a flaw. We're long past the
warm-and-fuzzy approach, because nobody was listening. The final ads are
what they are because the target audiences LOVE them.

Perhaps knowing the enormous creative effort that went into the campaign
helps. The process was long and arduous; the concepts were field-tested
extensively with many kinds of people (including us professionals, some of
whom are well past childbearing age) all over the US; and the entire project
brought together some of the best minds in breastfeeding, marketing, and
other fields.

Think about this: it's the FIRST nation-wide breastfeeding campaign by the
US Government. Those of us slugging it out in the trenches have groused
about lack of interest from high places for decades, and NOW WE HAVE THE
GOVERNMENT IN the BF CORNER! This is FABULOUS news!

I'm thrilled with this campaign, and fully intend to throw my energy into
supporting wide dissemination of the ads. It's time to stick together on
this, folks.
