Hi All,

I am a new IBCLC and so glad to be part of Lactnet.  Here's my two cents for the
current discussion:
Adding powdered fortifier to breastmilk destroyed the milk's anti-microbial
properties according to this study in 2003 by Gary Chan, MD
http://www.nature.com/jp/journal/v23/n8/abs/7211003a.html

It seems that our smallest and sickest babies are the most in need of all the
living components of breastmilk --- and formula kills those components.

Breast wishes to all,
Nancy Mallin, IBCLC, LLLL
Kensington, MD  USA
