Thanks for posting, Kerry.  Your suggestion to remain
calm and reply with reason is on the mark.  I've been
doing exactly that for 14 years of community meetings
and one-on-one contacts, from moms to reporters, and I
find that attitude is contagious.

Some of the ideas that strike chords are:

1. Breastfeeding is normal.

2. Mothers don't fail to breastfeed, communities fail
to support women.

3. Breastfeeding is a feminist issue.

Folks may poke us with a stick, but we need not give
them power by squealing.  If we know the sticks are
out there, we can be ready and calm.
