As a Miami Lactnetter, I thank you all for the heads' up about the
formula-to-Peru situation. I've had such a heavy caseload this month
that I haven't looked at my newspaper or turned on the tv news in days.
One of my WIC offices is in Hialeah (mentioned in one of the reports
posted here).

I can't make any promises but we'll do what we can. We've been trying to
get *official* attention about formula-during-disasters ever since
Hurricane Andrew hit us almost exactly 15 years ago - tomorrow is the
anniversary.  Even in 2004, when no less than four hurricanes hit this
state in the same year, the lesson went unlearned because the ears
remained deaf. On this particular topic a Florida breastfeeding advocate
frequently feels like she's spitting into the wind.

But we'll keep trying!  Someone pass me the kleenex, LOL....
