Jan asked for feedback re persistent plugged duct and other than seconding
the suggestion for ultrasound, I'd add the use of probiotics to decrease
inflammation, magnesium, Natural Calm brand best to also decrease
inflammation and a look at overuse of saturated fats in mom's diet and replacing these
with use of coconut oil. oh, and castor oil compresses several times per
day.

Now I have a question about blockages that feel like plugs versus abscess
or galactocele. Can an abscess present deep in breast and feel hard and
defined with no redness on breast nor pain even when palpated? Can a
galactocele be hard, again no pain or redness? And even though a mom say has had
a hardened area for several days but doesn't treat until day 4 or 5 does
one not count this being an unresolved plug only after a couple of days of
treatment? Should such a lump always proceed to biopsy after ultrasound
imaging? I do realize the risk of a tumor being the cause and the urgency in
diagnosing this, just want to confirm some time frame before more invasive
diagnostics are recommended.

Thank you in advance.
