Hello, I am a hospital based IBCLC in a level 3 NICU.  We are having some
controversy lately between neonatologists/NNPs regarding the use of human
milk when either mom or baby has a positive drug screen at birth.  They
understand that the benefits usually outweigh the risks, yet would like to
know what other NICUs are doing in this situation.
