I am not that sure of fresh having a greater caloric content.  It is
true that some of the fat precipitates out in little clumps when frozen
milk is thawed and it would appear that some of the fat is lost when
milk is poured from one container to the other, so this is probably
right.

Perhaps more important is the lesser loss of macrophages and lymphocytes
in fresh breastmilk.
