Hi Everyone, this is my first time posting.  I just sat the IBCLC exam this year and was a 
little scared of asking stupid questions!

With my first daughter, I experienced a wave of nausea before each MER for about the first 
year (she nursed until she was two and a half).  It wasn't that bad, so I just dealt with it.  I 
have a new baby (born 7/20) and about two weeks ago it started again--a wave of nausea 
about 30 seconds before I have a MER.  It's actually a little convenient when I'm out in 
public and my baby is not nursing--I can apply pressure to stop the MER before I soak my 
shirt!  In accumulating my counseling hours for the exam, I only came across one other 
woman who experiences this and haven't had much luck finding out the cause.  I assume it 
probably has something to do with oxytocin??  Some else suggested it might be related to 
vagal nerve response?  Does anyone have any insight?   It's definitely bearable, but I'm 
getting more curious about the cause.
