Goat's milk is fine. Camel milk is fine. Mare milk is fine. Tiger milk is
great, but who's going to milk it?

All that to say that there is a misconception that babies must drink milk.
In fact, after a year, and perhaps even earlier, no milk is really
necessary, as, if the baby eats a wide variety of foods in sufficient
quantities, s/he probably can get everything s/he needs without milk.
Calcium might be a problem, but can be overcome with help from a dietician.
On the other hand, babies don't have to *drink* milk. They can eat milk, as
in cheese or yogurt. I get so many calls from mothers worried that their
baby won't drink milk. "Does he eat cheese" say I? "Oh, yes, he loves
cheese and would eat it all day" says she. "Well why the &*#^ does he need
to drink milk for", say I?

Another nutrition myth brought to you by "we always did it that way".
