Hi All,
I have a client who I have been working with for almost 3 years now. With
her first baby, she could not establish a milk supply, no matter what she
did. Her Dr would not run any tests to find out if it was hormonally
related. With baby number two, same thing, tho she did manage to supply him
with about 1/3 of his needs. THis time, Dr did blood work-ups, but all
seemed normal. She BF for about 4 months, then quit due to baby refusing
the breast.
My friend Karen Evon, IBCLC (HI!) and I have always suspected possible abuse
in her past, and tho this gal and I are good friends, she has not been very
forthcoming with info on this (Too hard, I think. She is not ready to
discuss it with anyone, but has made comments alluding to possible sexual
abuse.) I just found out today, that she is bulemic, but in recovery. From
what she told me, she was Bulemic up until last April, which means she was
active during pregnancies 1 and 2.
My question: Could Bulemia have the effect of killing a milk supply?

TIA!
