Anedoctal but my sister cares for a child of two firefighters, exclusively
breastfed and still nursing at three.  His older sister also nursed but I
don't have information on that.  His mother pumped, had no problems with
supply.  I would imagine there were times when she couldn't pump.  At times
my sister would take the little boy to the firestation to nurse, not just
for eating but to visit mom.
The child looks great, husky and energetic kid.
