Thank you thank you thank you for your posts on my case situation. Here
is the outcome.
After considering your feedback, I spoke with the mother more and
approached the subject of sexual abuse, I'm glad I had developed somewhat
of a relationship with her to discuss the subject (my fear of
approaching). She stated that was negative. We decided to try
syntocinon - I'll give you the info on that in the next post.
The OB was very helpful, she tried the syntocinon with no success, none.
I then called the nurse at the office to pick her brain, after some
discussion, she did share with me that this mom had augmentation surgery
years ago, her husband and the OB did not know and she did not want
anyone to know!!!!!!!!Her mother-in-law was always present when we spoke,
very supportive, but this mom could not share this tad of information.
The nurse suggested she sharing this info with me, however in further
conversations with the mom, she still chose not to. In reviewing my
notes, she stated she had had no breast surgeries including augmentation
and reduction. Her physical was unremarkable, although she was very
discreet and I honored that and did not look for scars, and did not see
scars at what I did look at.
I think we can all gleam our own points from this case, I was shocked
that some one would give misinformation, I too learned alot.
In conclusion, in this case I do believe there was some physiologic basis
for her inability to produce milk. Very sad, we are introducing this
baby to the bottle because mom had done so well supplementing at the
breast that this baby had not had a bottle. She does not wish to
continue at the breast despite the emotional benifits.
Sorry so long, but thank you for being there I felt you deserved the
feedback about the situation.
