While I agree that the article is one of the best around in our normal
papers, I wish it had mentioned worldwide average weaning age. It said that
weaning commonly happens in the 2nd year of life. I realize it is not
uncommon for child-led weaning to happen in the 2nd year of life but I
believe that the 3rd year of life is the more common age. Also she had no
examples of women nursing beyond two years. Admittedly, it was very good
relative to the other articles out there. As a Mom nursing a 21 month old
who nurses like a newborn, I forsee nursing for a couple more years and I
just wish that were seen as normal. If the article had focused on the global
perspective of weaning then my daughter and I would be more normal. Also
many other Moms who wean because of societal pressure might be influenced to
keep nursing.

The article also did not list the benefits of toddler nursing.
