I believe Georgette Bartell's post generated my stepping up on the soapbox
again. I would like to humbly suggest that she ask for documentation that
a baby, (infant or toddler) should not be breastfed for 48 hours after the
mother's surgery.

It is time we stopped by forced into a defensive position when the other
person needs to be asked for the documentation supporting their position.

Generally, when a mother is awake and able to hold her child safely, she
should be able to breastfeed. (MDs and pharamacists out there: please
correct me if I am in error on this point.)

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
