Hi All,
Remember a couple of weeks ago I talked about one of my WIC moms, 15 yrs,
fighting really nasty yeast? Well, today, she got a new Dr for herself and a
new Ped for her son (who is also fighting nasty thrush!). The Dr agreed to
prescribe Diflucan, for mom, but only gave her 150mg. The Ped refused,
saying that even though the baby had been on the Nystat for a month, (with no
results) that it should get better.
I suggested to mom that she call both Drs back and kindly insist on the
Diflucan, in proper dosage amounts for each of them. I said if the Ped again
refused, to wait a week, (play their game) then call him back and tell him
there was still no improvements, and please prescribe the Diflucan.
Well, her Dr gladly prescribed the proper amount of Diflucan for her, and the
Ped said sure he'd go ahead and prescribe the Diflucan for baby. Seems he
had thought about it, and decided that one month of thrush was enough for
anyone! She gave them both my name and # in case they wanted info on
Diflucan (since I have the wonderful info from Tom Hale!).
So, we will see how this mom responds to the Diflucan and baby too. She is
so happy! She is in so much pain, and now sees a light at the end of her
tunnel!

Thanks all of you for giving me the access I need to be able to help my
clients! It's days llike this that I am glad I am in this field, and am
grateful to have you as colleagues!

Take care!
Jay
