Esther,
Yes, we are winning, but it's a long, slow ongoing battle. With each
mother, physician, midwife, legislator, grandmother, etc. etc. we help,
work with and bring on board, we are winning. With each of these people
who helps, educates, brings someone else on board the ripples are
widening. But I don't think it will end. It is ongoing, this is the
stuff of life, the issue worth devoting ourselves to and fighting for.
If each person in the world had one or two such issues they devoted
themselves to and the ripples widened in each of them, the world would
be a much better place. To the extent that many people do have those
one or two issues they devote themselves to, the world IS a much better
place than it would otherwise be.

There is a quote, from a classic Jewish source, I can't remember which
at the moment.
"It is not your responsibility to finish the work (of making the world
a better place), but you are also not free to ignore it either." How's
that for one to put up on our office walls?
