Dear Lactnetters,
I am posting for a friend and I do not have all the information that I would
like to know but here goes: If the father of an 8 day old nursing infant is
allergic to shellfish, would it be safe for the mom to consume it? I do not
know the type of reaction that this dad had. I do know that none of his other
children have ever eaten shellfish.
After reading Lawrence,my impression is to avoid it, but I am concerned that
I might be taking the information out of context and I do not want to make
nursing complicated. But neither do I want a sick baby! Thanks in advance for
your help.
Valerie Rhodes
