Hi All,

As a postpartum nurse, I can tell you that our patients (in Austin) are
told to not take a tub bath because the cervix does not fully close until 6
wks postpartum. Sitz baths are recommended because mom is sitting upright
and it is usually only 5-10 minutes. In a tub, mom usually reclines and
relaxes, and often tub water is sucked up into the vagina. Dirty tub =
possible uterine infection. SO.... I think it has just turned into another
one of those "blanket" statements. Its easier to just advise everyone to
not take a tub bath for 6 weeks, than to decipher who is likely to
understand the necessity of the tub being "clean" before using it.

I have a question about the bach flowers. What are those? Sound
lovely. Where do you get them? What are their purpose? I have seen the
tub work miracles in babies refusing to latch and would love to implement
the bach flowers as well. (into a clean tub!) ;-)
