HI again- I was just checking out some more research in the areas of
premies- again all older but as I remember it- good info.

Butte, N.F., Wong, W.W., Ferlic, L., O'Brian Smith, E., Klein, P.D.&
Garza, C. (1990) Energy expenditure and deposition of breastfed and
formula fed infants during early infancy. PEDIATRIC RESEARCH, 28, 631-640.

Matthew, O.P., Clark, M.L., Pronske, M.L., Lune-Solarzano, H.G.,&
Peterson, M.D. ( 1985) Breathing patterns and ventilation during oral
feeding in term and newborn infants. Journal of Pediatrics , 106, 810-813.

Shipuri, C.R., Martin, R.J., Carolo, W.A& Faranoff, AA. (1983) Decreased
ventilation in preterm infants during oral feedings. Journal of
Pediatrics, 103, 285-289.

I think a great tool is to have all the data about how compromising it can
be to feed an infant with a bottle. Hope some of these are helpful-

Again- I don't have any bibs on current research in this area- maybe
someone else is aware of some new stuff???

Best to you! ginny combs
