Dear Friends:
    I was teaching in another state, far from where I live. Many in the class
were maternity nurses that spoke of the increase in explosive stools, gas,
and fussiness of babies fed formulae with these additives. Some stated that the
local formula rep was telling medical staff that if a baby was EXCLUSIVELY
additive-formula fed, then there wouldn't be a problem.
    Can you believe they are borrowing the notion of exclusivity for their
products?
    These same nurses also said that it wasn't true, that GI disturbance was
more frequent in babies fed these formulae regardless of exclusivity.
    The nerve of them! The denial of our government! Our babies are being
experimented on. There is now Soy-additive formula and MilkSugar-free additive
formulae. Companies are just making up the stuff to sell to people with dollars.
    They are using every bit of  of breastfeeding that they can to sell their
product.
    sigh.
