Hello! I'm sure you all will find this interesting, strange, remarkable.
The woman gave me permission to post it, and looks forward to your comments,
as do I. I had never heard of this, and hope that you all can educate me.
 Here goes!

<<I freaked out the first time I noticed them. But then I read something
(can't remember where) that some women have an abundance of milk glands--all
the way to the armpits! And these glands sometimes get full and engorged
just like the ones in the breast. That's what happened to me. The milk
glands swelled up into hard lumps some the size of a pea, some (closer to the
breast, but still in the armpit) were more like the size of a walnut. The
big ones hurt! That's how I first discovered them--my armpits were hurting
and felt lumpy. And when I looked closely, I saw the "nipples". The
"nipples" looked like nothing more than swollen pores, and were very light
brown in color. Their size varied with the size of the glands they're over.
There were about 2 -3 big lumps under each armpit--and maybe 3 or 4 smaller
ones. Being of a curious, experimental sort, I gave a few of the "nipples" a
squeeze, and was surprised when I got some milk out of them! (It's the ones
with larger glands that I could squeeze milk out of.) I even had a couple of
very tiny ones that are nothing more than raised dots (like measles!), about
1/4 way down the inside of my right forearm! Imagine the skin under the
armpits being stretched as the lumps got bigger, thus enlarging the pores.
Then one of these pores in the center of each lump just morphed into a
miniature nipple--it looked just like one! The size? They vary according to
the size of the lumps--say, from the size of a grain of salt (these I
couldn't sqeeze anything out of) to about, hmm. ., 1/4 of an inch or so?
(The large ones were the ones I could squeeze milk out of.)

It appeared like there was an increase in skin pigmentation under my armpits,
as was everywhere else on my body.  I had a line down the middle of my belly;
and little brown spots appeared here and there on my body--I even had some on
my face! And it seemed like the color of these "armpit nipples" was part of
that pigmentation; since I can't even find a trace of them now. I've just
looked again and couldn't see anything but a normal armpit. I believe the
nipples disappeared along with the decrease in the hormone.

Oh, I should tell you that this only happened during the first month of
breastfeeding, starting with when the milk came in, and disappeared after my
body stabilized the milk production. They're completely gone now--I can't
even find a trace of one, and my armpit feels normal, too.>>

So, what do you think? The lumps are not surprising, but the fact that they
resemble nipples, even with color, and that she could squeeze milk out!!!!!
I have heard of accessory nipples (my son has one), but not of being able to
get milk out of them!

Curious,
