this.  If we look at  everything Chris said, which I agree is a good thing to 
think about, can we  substitute that all the others could have been more 
understanding,  sympathetic, tolerant, etc, toward the mother of the 17-month-old twin 
who had  brain surgery?  The mom was all stressed out and just wanted to 
comfort  her child.  Did they help her or hurt her?

I really do see your point and respect it highly. Maybe I am an idiot, but  I 
look at like this: I can only control ( sometimes...:) my own reactions. I 
can  try to be kind, even extra kind, and repay  ridiculous behavior with  
kindness, all the while maintaining my own principles. This mom has the law on  her 
side, and public health policy on her side, and common decency on her  
side,and her own ability to not return anger for ignorance and rudeness.  Hopefully 
some combination of the above will change the world, one family at a  time.
