Dear Fellow Lactnetters:
There is a short "blurb" in the current issue of Redbook magazine that
claims that recent research has shown that BF only prevents conception for 8
weeks, and that only if the mother exclusively breastfeeds. My understanding
was that pregnancy is extremely unlikely for 6 months *if*

     1) mom is exclusively breastfeeding, and
     2) baby is breastfeeding at night, and
     3) menses has not returned

Anyone aware of new research to the contrary? And if this is true, then the
nursing mothers who wean a happily breastfeeding baby because they hear the
biological clock ticking loudly and want to have another tomorrow can just
chill out and breastfeed!
