Does anyone have any suggestions about the most important and effective
information, and also any activities that I can do that will get mums
motivated and involved in the class.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Margaret, a stategy for covering the most important topics *and* to get class
participants motivated *and* involved: start with the participants
verbalizing their goals for class, ask them as a group or as they introduce themselves,
they add what their main goal for class is, ....whatever they say respond in a
positve and enthusiastic manner, ie; "that is a good one!", ........."ohh,
good idea"..........., even when they say "Pumping", act like it is a wonderful
goal to have, to learn about in prenatal class and let them know that that
concern will be covered (don't bother explaining why ipumping should not be and
will not be the main focus of the class), by the time some or most of the class
have offered a goal or two you will have all your planned topics listed on
the the board and at the end of class point the list that *the class* made and
they can see that all their goals were addressed and the post-class evals will
be A+.

...........We use dolls and pillows and baby blankets to practice wake-up
techniques, calming, burping, positions, and positioning...............
