Dr. Jack, not to belabor the point, but... The HCPs here point to the
fact that because most of the babies are dark-skinned, they "cannot"
absorb vit. D from our abundant sunlight, hence vit. D supplement "to be
safe" (please don't pop a gut). How can I counter this argument (which I
imagine is the same one put forth by the HCPs of the Hispanics in
Michigan, was it?, only with much less sun there, hence "proving" the
cause of the cases of rickets founds..... although I am of course just
guessing what's going on in their heads)?

Do Israelis north of me hear the same thing re: vitamin D supplements at
a few weeks of age? I imagine your populations have lower percentage of
dark-skinned families.....
