I agree.  And yet I can picture the mother with a screaming, unhappy baby
who settles if she uses the other side: sooo tempting!  She may need to
steel herself for a day or so, reminding herself that mothers with only one
breast have no *choice* but to stay with that breast, walking him to calm
him, using breast compressions to increase the flow, doing whatever is
needed to make it through at least 6 hours until she switches to the other
side.  I'd think his frustration would ease within a couple days.

But it might not hurt to double-check his latch.  Babies whose mothers act
as firehoses can develop the technique of sitting on the end of the nipple
and letting the milk pour in.  I can see where *those* babies would be
pretty upset when the flow stopped, if they weren't positioned well!
