Most women in the world use the scissors hold. What we, who help mothers
out with breastfeeding problems, should realize is that women have *usually*
managed without us up to recently. That if you have a good milk supply (as
most women do), good support (as most have when their own mothers and
relatives breastfed normally) and you don't get stupid advice (as too many
women have since the advent of *scientific medicine*), and there is no
alternative (one reason why direct marketing of modified cow's milk, or soy
based infant feeding simulated substitute must be banned), they will manage
no matter how they hold the breast, or how they position the baby or whether
they follow a schedule or don't.
