In this whole discussion on using things for something they were not designed
for, it again and again strikes me that it is not the safety of the user that
some worry about, but the safety in front of the judge of the person making the
client use it.
I want to repeat what I said before, in other words: Our first rule is to do no
harm and our aim is to change a non-desireable sitauation into a desireable one.
That assumes to work very thoughtfull and carefull and to make sure that all
possible safety measurements are taken. If that is so, one can use whatever tool
or technique that is available.
And working with designed equipment does not insure safety in all cases. If a
client gets hurt by using a desinged tool the wrong way, is it less awfull for
her that our liability insurence will cover our risks? No. it's just not that
hard for us.
