Okay...are you ready for this one? I have a bf patient who wants to take
testosterone. She had a hysterectomy, including removal of both ovaries,
right after her last baby and she has noticed that her libido is
significantly lowered in spite of taking Premarin. Her ob/gyn wants to put
her on a small dose of testosterone to boost her libido (which I've seen
documented research supporting this, but not in bf populations. I checked
Hale's Medications in Mother's Milk, but there is no reference to
testosterone. Normally I would try to persuade her to try something else,
but her husband is in a total snit about her lack of desire and he wants her
to try it (he went to her dr's appt). So, does anyone have any info on
this? I can do my own biochemical pathways analysis, but I'm looking for
either hard research or your own experiences with patients taking
testosterone.

Leave it to me to come up with yet another bizarr-o question.
Sending Warmest Sunny Weekend Thoughts your way!
