Hi everybody! I have a suggestion about signatures--not the ones in the
posts, but the ones on people's email accounts. My email software shows me
who sent me mail, when, and the subject. But because a lot of Lactnetters
are women using their husband's accounts, a large percentage of the
signatures are males who aren't on Lactnet. For example, my screen may
show a posting from Bill Smith when it's really Jane Smith, or Jane Doe.
So here I am wracking my brain trying to bring Bill Smith to mind, and
feeling bad about my poor memory. And my memory really is being pushed to
its limits trying to keep track of you all!

But lately I have noticed some women adding their names, e.g. Jane and Bill
Smith, or Jane Smith and John Doe. This makes it easier for me to remember
who the sender is. I think this is a good compromise when two people use
the same account.

There may be some barriers to everyone doing this, but it would be lovely
if all the women on LactNet could try to get their names on the account's
signature line.
