Dear All:

I am having no luck weeding my way through NY City bureaurocracy to get to the bottom of the bus
ads. I did the 311 thing and contacted the MTA & called the NY CIty Dept of Health about 5 times
only to have their phone system cut off on me each and every time. Their website is totally lacking in
anything to do with the breast. The section on women's health has nothing about breast cancer, let
alone breastfeeding to prevent it. The section on obesity says nothing about breastfeeding and there
is no section on infant feeding at all. Nutrition is just a short blurb on low fat foods.

So, thinking about the sleep problem, I thought the best approach should I wend my way through the
bureaucracy, would be to nudge them into putting some of the Ad Council campaign advertisements
out. I have not seen these ads in NY City, has anyone else?

I also contacted my mommy friend at the NYTimes & she felt the FAO Scharz good news was not
newsworthy in it of itself, but should be passed along to the person who generally writes about these
issues to keep in a notebook as backup information for any additional more newsworthy incidents on
breastfeeding.

Best regards, Susan
