This is my motto, parents are scared to even put babies on their tummies
when awake.  We are seeing flattened heads and last week I saw a little 4 mo
old with shoulder contractures because he is NEVER prone :-(  Much better to
nurse and bed with mom :-)

BTW: later studies have shown that back is best :-)  side lying rates of
SIDs are in between tummy  sleeping and back sleeping!  Pat in SNJ
