I can understand both Pat and Chris's statements.
Lack of knowledge and a failure to understand the importance of breastfeeding by health care professionals is frustrating. As I heard Larry Gartner once quote a mom "This is how babies are fed."
Hoping for a la suit my not be the nicest way to improve knowledge but it would be a quick fix.
Probably a better way is getting lactation related questions on board exams.
