Genes may influence nutrition profile of breast milk

The nutritional composition of a mother's breast milk is determined not only
by her diet, but her genetics as well, according to a study presented May 18
at Digestive Disease Week 2005 in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Weinberg cautioned that more research remains be done before any
nutritional recommendation can be made. But he suggested that in the future,
similar genetic tests may help identify the women who need modify their diet
to better the nutrition profile of their breast milk.
