Me again, about my friend who is pumping for her surviving triplet. She
continues to produce a lot of milk - about 40 oz a day. Baby is up now to
19cc every 3 hours! (6 oz a day.) She has pretty much run out of freezer
space. The NICU has all they need for quite a while, her freezer and her
mom's freezer are full. She asked today about donating milk. She'd rather
do that then scale back her supply at this point. I recall reading that
preemie milk is in demand at milk banks, but haven't the faintest idea how
to tell her to go about finding out how to donate. Can anyone tell me?
Her little Zachary is doing okay. He is still on a vent (5 1/2 weeks old
now, corrected age 31 weeks.) He is growing on her milk, though, and except
for his lungs, has no major problems.
