<< My sister and I both had baby girls around the same time, and both of us
were exclusively breastfeeding. My daughter was a slow-gaining, petite
little girl, hers was a very fast-gaining baby. At four months, her baby
weighed twice what mine did - and mine had been nearly a pound heavier at
birth! Today, they are both 25, and both are slender and healthy. Her
daughter is a few inches taller than mine, though. >>

This seems to validate what we always say about "plumping up and then
stretching out". It makes sense that a child who may be taller, might need more early
weight to power all that growth.
