I was at a WIC conference recently and heard that many WIC programs
have had problems with cockroaches getting into their rental
pumps. In some cases, the health dept. office has become infested
from these pumps. Several hundred pumps had to be fumigated and small
screens attached to where the roaches were entering the pumps at the
slat shaped openings on the front, left side adjacent to the piston.
I called the company and they said there has been no such problem. But, my sources insist that it is a big problem. Shouldn't we be concerned about the use of these pumps with preemie moms? We have about 90 of those pumps and I couldn't sleep last night. Help! Is it true or not? e-mail me privately if
necessary. For some reason, people don't want to talk about this openly!
