Hello everyone,

My name is Alysha Jones and I am a breastfeeding mommy of a nine month old
baby girl, Emmalee (my and my hubby's first.)

I have been reading Lactnet for the last couple of months on recommendation
of my dear friend and lactation mentor Nancy Williams of Santa Maria,
California. I have enjoyed reading all of your posts and have gleaned such a
wealth of information from you--thank you.

My husband, Seth, is active duty military in the Air Force and in February
we were stationed at a remote location in the middle of the Atlantic ocean
on the Azores Islands--at Lajes Field, Terceira Island (a Portuguese
territory, so to speak.) There was little to no help out here for military
breastfeeding families, so I decided to do something about it. I am in the
process of becoming a LLL Leader, am currently holding a weekly
breastfeeding support group, and want to become an IBCLC. Seth and I also
want to have a big family, so I think I have my work cut out for me :-)

Thank you for everything you ladies and gentlemen do. I feel privledged to
be a part in a small way of this awesome community.

Blessings,
Alysha--who loves Emmalee's new ability of crawling up and latching on from
any angle--what talent!

P.S. A big shout out to Julie Merrill, an incredible lactation consultant at
French Hospital of San Luis Obispo, Ca, who made me want to become an LC
myself months after she touched my and Emmalee's lives forever.
