Breastfeeding project receives grant money

Two Kodiak [Alaska] nutritionists received a $48,300 grant to educate Kodiak families about breastfeeding and infant nutrition. 

Gwyn Anderson and Heather Preece have been developing the Kodiak Infant Nutrition and Development Support Survey Project, or Kodiak KINDNESS Project, for two years. 

With the grant, they will be able to contact every new mother on the island.

So, when they found out about an opportunity for grant money through Providence Alaska Health System, they "got all over it." 

The money came from the Providence Alaska branch of the Children's Miracle Network, a national nonprofit that works to promote children's health care.
