Just wanted to give Pamela Morrison a big thumbs up on her potential study of
hormone levels and retained placental fragments--just the kind of information
which could be so helpful in sorting out the mystery of low milk supply. How
great it would be if we had a quick diagnostic blood test which could point
to retained placenta. I'm hoping some lactnetters will have info on hormone
levels in retained placenta. If not, Pamela, maybe your OB's would be willing
to determine "normal" levels of progesterone and HCG in post partum mothers
and compare these to levels in mothers with known retained placenta.
Exciting!!
