Anne:  I helped a mom and baby in similar circumsances.  This baby, along
with the high, narrow palate had a receeding chin and weak suck. I first
saw them at 3 months of age, after the baby had already been hospitalized
for FTT.  We used a modified football hold, dancer hand, and I had the
mom hand express into the baby's mouth at the beginning of the feedings.
All of this required two people to position, at first, and every pillow
in the house. It was all ultimately successful. Hope this helps
