Yet another call from a mom who delivered at the military hospital.
Baby was born 5 weeks early, but weighed about 5 lbs. Everyone was so
worried about weight, baby was started on bottles of abm. Why not help
this mom initiate successful breastfeeding?!!! Mom called me to find out
how to get baby back to breast.

My son overheard me discussing bottle feeding with this mom. He knows
not to interrupt when I am on a LLL call, but he did on this one.
"Excuse me mom, but you're not supposed to feed babies with bottles.
They're supposed to get milk from their moms." Must be those 10 extra IQ
points at work! Thankfully, the mom on the line laughed at what he said
(didn't want her to feel bad). I tried to explain to my son after that
sometimes bottles may be needed. This coming from a mother who won't
allow baby dolls to be fed in our house with bottles. I think he might
have been a little confused. :)

Aloha,
