My own small act of subversion:
With 2 young children, cutting and gluing is a
top-ranked activity in my home. One day, when the
little ones were doing their thing, I decided to make
a collage of my own. I pulled out old issues of
parent and child-related magazines, found the formula
ads, and very carefully cut them up, saving the little
catchy marketing phrases ("bring out the best in your
baby", ad nauseum), and pasted them around some lovely
pictures of babies at breast. I used it as a cover on
the binder for my LC course. When I work at the
bedside, I use a similar collage as a cover sheet on
my clipboard. It is pretty worn out, so I am working
on a new one, using things from BabyTalk magazine's
formula ads.
Don't toss 'em...recycle 'em! Heh, heh, heh.
Carole
