Well, the breast has a projection into the armpit called the Axillary
Tail of Spence.  There are also lots of lymph nodes and nerves that go
through the axilla.  It may be that the contraction of the myoepithelial
cells which causes the MER or the expansion of the ducts while milk is
moving through them could stimulate the nerves in the axilla and be
interpreted as itching.  I wonder if this would be more of a problem if
there were some edema in the area, making less room for all the
structures that "livX-Mozilla-Status: 0009othesizing, mind you.
