It only makes sense that a baby would be less stressed being weighed in the prone position. It is less likely to stimulate the startle reflex when he rolls or is rolled from side to side by nurses and doctors in a hurry to do their procedures with him while he's naked and feeling nothing but space all around him for the first time in his existence.
