Dry breastfeeding refers to having Mom pump to "empty" her breasts, then
putting the infant to breast during Kangaroo care or a gavage feed.  You can
do this LONG before infants are ready to handle anything po,  Mom gets a
chance to learn positioning, latch, etc. while baby gets Moms smell, warmth,
and maybe a drop or two of breastmilk----all BEFORE anyone is concerned re
volume taken at a breastfeed !
